JACKSON, Miss. - The Northeast Mississippi Community College has more than 100 individual scholastic honorees for the second straight year.

A total of 107 from Northeast to be precise were recognized by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) for their outstanding work in the classroom.

The MACCC annually honors both freshmen and sophomores from its 15 institutions that complete 24 cumulative hours between both semesters with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.25.

Nominees with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.79 secure Academic All-MACCC while those with a 3.8 or greater GPA obtain the title of distinguished scholar. Athletes that graduate mid-year also qualify by taking 12 countable hours.

Baseball and football ended up in a deadlock for the greatest amount of players honored with 24 each. It is the fifth consecutive year that baseball has at a minimum tied for the most recipients.

Every member of the women's cross country roster earned this award. They along with baseball, men's cross country, women's basketball and women's golf received MACCC Academic Team of the Year for their respective sport.

Northeast's traditional service area of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union counties was well represented once again with 46 awardees. Kossuth High School had the most alumni on this lineup with eight.

The following is the list by sport and in alphabetical order with hometowns of the Northeast student-athletes that were rewarded by the MACCC.
