MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Jalen Chandler earned an extra opportunity to compete this summer after a solid freshman season with the Northeast Mississippi Community College men's basketball program.

Chandler will represent the Tigers at the P32 JUCO Showcase from July 18-19 at the Memphis Sports and Events Center.

"This event is a great opportunity for Jalen to continue to showcase himself and our college," said Northeast head coach Cord Wright. "Jalen has worked very hard and I know he will be ready to compete."

Chandler will be the Tigers' top returning scorer and rebounder for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign. He topped Northeast during his debut season with a 56.9 field goal percentage and 5.3 boards per contest.

The Florence, Ala., native was one of four Tigers that averaged double figures during the previous season. He posted 11.6 points on the strength of 17 double-digit performances.

Chandler tied a season-high twice with 30 points in a pair of home victories. He first accomplished that feat against Marion Military (Ala.) Institute and then versus Three Rivers (Mo.) College in the Harvey Childers Classic.

He added 18 rebounds in the Marion Military game to make it perhaps his most dominant effort of the entire year. Chandler was an impressive 16 of 17 from the free throw line against Three Rivers.

He recorded five 20-plus point games and four double-doubles. His final such performance was 14 points and 10 rebounds in a triumph over Copiah-Lincoln Community College inside Bonner Arnold Coliseum.

His top effort in Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) play was 28 points at Hinds Community College. He shot 75 percent from the floor that evening and went 10 of 14 from the charity stripe.

The 6-7, 205-pound forward also led Northeast in blocks with 25. He had six games with multiple blocks, including a season-best of four versus Lawson State (Ala.) Community College.
