Booneville, MS – Following a 3-0 week by the Lady Tigers and a new career high of 31 points against Southwest, sophomore guard Maniya Kirksey has been named MACCC Player of the Week as announced by the conference Tuesday.
Kirksey was on fire all week long for Northeast with an average of 21.7 points per game with 8.3 rebounds while shooting an efficient 55% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. In all three games she reached double figures in scoring with 18 points to open the week against Jones that was followed by a career high against Southwest with 31 points with 11 rebounds on 65% shooting and finished the week of with 16 points in a rivalry win over Northwest.
Kirksey on the season is averaging 16.2 points per game with 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals while shooting a 46.8% clip from three-point range. Her 31 points against the Bears is one of eight games where she reached the 20+ point mark with seven occurring since the start of the 2026 calendar year.
This award marks the third time a Lady Tiger has been named MACCC Player of the Week with freshman guard Baylon Middleton and sophomore guard Christina Fulton each earning the honor earlier in the season.
Northeast will be back at home on Thursday in a matchup against Gulf Coast with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 PM.
