Booneville, MS – Northeast was on fire in their doubleheader against Mississippi Delta this past Tuesday in MACCC play with the Tigers hammering out three home runs in game one for a 20-0 run rule win in blow out fashion before grabbing an 8-1 win in game two to finish off the Trojans with a series sweep.
Game one opened with a 4-0 lead for the Tigers with Hank Eaton kicking things off with an RBI single down the left side followed by a two-run bomb from Drew Hollimon out to left while an RBI double from Gavin Puckett finished off a four-run first inning. A leadoff dinger to right center from Hank Eaton put Northeast on the score board in the bottom of the third while a three-run homer from Brett Haas made it an eight-run advantage over Delta with Colin Flurry's RBI single capping off the inning with a 9-0 lead.
Haas followed up his home run in the third with an RBI single in the fourth to stretch the lead into double digits with a parade at the plate in the fifth being capped off by a 3-RBI double from Kieran Coleman for a 16-0 lead for the Tigers. A few final scoring hits from Austin Spears and Hunter Kuhl in the sixth led to 2-RBI doubles each to make it a 20-0 ball game to force a run rule decision and give game one to Northeast.
